看護史研究あれこれ

There doctor and nurses of Yamagata Prefecture were very  much interested in Nursing  education. Questions that had been given much thought were asked.Thus showing that for quite same time the much thought had been given to elevating the standards of nursing education. It is thought   with encouragement of nursing education. It is thought with encouragement the responsible persons in this Prefecture would do much for their nurses and schools of nursing.

＊『知命堂病院付属産婆看護婦養成所史』を読む。 不勉強を恥じるばかりだが、この書に大関和氏が登場する。 瀬尾原始初代院長のご英断で産婆看護婦養成所が設立されたことは著名だが、 最も驚いたのは、初代看護長であった大関和氏です。明治 19 年開設の桜井女学校看護婦養成所第 1 回卒業生である大関和氏は有名人だけに、その大関氏と瀬尾院長との縁をめぐり、「たまたま人力車に乗って往診の途中」の遭遇などは出色のエピソードであった。加えて、大関氏の開院式祝辞（ 28 頁）の全文を拝読するだけでも、その高邁な理想に感動するほどである。その達意の文に、大関和氏の明晰な頭脳を知り、家老の娘に産まれ、持って生まれた教養のレベルの大きな差を感じる。 一読を望む。
